STATE HOUSE – Sen. Joshua Miller, chairman of the Special Senate Commission to Study Cost Containment, Efficiency and Transparency in the Delivery of Quality Patient Care and Access by Hospitals, will be available to the media tomorrow before the commission votes on its final report.

Chairman Miller will be available tomorrow, Wednesday, March 23, at 1 p.m. in Room 212 on the second floor of the State House to meet with the media about the contents of the proposed report.

The commission is scheduled to vote on acceptance of the report at a meeting at 2 p.m. in the Senate Lounge, also on the second floor.

The commission has been working since late 2010 to identify ways to provide for a more efficient, transparent and uniform rate-approval process for the purchase of health services, particularly health services by hospitals, and to help control the rising costs of health care, including employers’ health insurance costs and Rhode Islanders’ out-of-pocket costs.
